I'm a freelance technical author and trainer, based on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border. I enjoy the variety that being freelance gives me, and am comfortable writing about a wide range of subjects for audiences at different levels of knowledge. I mainly write about software – user guides, online help, training materials and specifications – for both experts and novice users. My focus is on helping people to achieve what they want to achieve in the most efficient, straightforward way.
I'm also a teacher and trainer. As an Associate Lecturer for the Open University on one of their first level technology courses, I have to keep up with the latest trends in communication technologies. I also teach writing skills courses (my own and for another company) to individuals and to businesses.
I have a passion for learning, and am currently working my way towards a Diploma in Online and Distance Education to complement my existing qualifications.
